Hi, l am a freshman in high school and am currently taking biology and algebra 2 as my science and math, but that isnt correct(being as biology has nothing to do with flying=))
But what should l be focusing on?? Thanks

Physics is always good as a base regardless of where your life goals take you.
If you're looking for an academy slot: calculus, chemistry are also useful.

What should u be focusing on? Everything! They really do not care what kind of occupation u get in high school, which is why u have to get a certain amount of credits in every subject to ensure u r a well rounded person. This is very inconvenient sometimes, because when u have a boring or tedious subject u have to grin & bear it. You need to do good in high school so u can get into a good college.

But it pays off. In college, u can focus on whatever subjects u want.

Grades (GPA) and test scores (SAT/ACT) are more important than the classes you actually take. While you might benefit from some of the knowledge you would get in Physics, for example, it is not going to be a make or break deal as far as college admissions. Stay out of trouble and get good grades.

Focus on what ur guidance counselor recommends for ur school is college prep curriculum. The best thing u can do is to put yourself in a position to take AP classes or dual enrollment in a couple years if ur school offers those options. If u can knock out college credits for free in high school, u will save thousands of dollars. Literally.

High school is about gaining a broad knowledge in all subjects, not career training. High school IS ur career right now, so focus on that. Do not blow off ur English, biology, or social studies classes because u do not see the link to flying. They all prepare u for SAT/ACT tests. That is critical for college, which is the link to flying.
