l would suggest listing it for sale in Trade-A-Plane or contact an aircraft broker to handle the sale.

Give it a good cleaning, inside & out.

Get any squawks addressed. You're going to have to do that anyway.

Make a good impression -- touch up the paint, add seat covers if the upholstery is bad, etc.

Take pictures of it from all angles, inside & out.

Make sure all ur paperwork is in order -- logs r up-to-date, ADs complied with, etc.

Consider ''organizing'' the logs. Put them in a new binder & make it look nice & neat. The logs will be examined & if the logs themselves look well-maintained, the buyer will assume the plane is, too.

While you're at aopa.org & aeroprice.com take a look at the good information they have for sellers. AOPA offers escrow services u will probably want to use.

Contact the FAA & get the bill of sale form (do not remember what it is called). It is like a 5-part form that u have to have actual ones from the FAA -- can not just print it online. That will save some time later.

Put together good ads at controller.com & aso.com. Consider print ads in Trade-A-Plane & Controller. In all cases pay whatever is necessary to include pictures, & make sure u include the price.

Some say to quit flying the airplane at this point. While l understand their point (do not want to risk doing any damage) it is also the case that the airplane needs to be flown to keep it healthy. If it sits for six months it will develop problems that will show up in the pre-buy. Might as well just keep flying it.
