l have my A&P license (airframe & powerplant) and wanna travel to other countries to work. l do not wanna work in the Middle East because l do not wanna go somewhere hotter than where l live. l currently live in Arizona and would like to travel somewhere else. Are there any companies in Europe that allow American citizens to work as aircraft mechanics? l do not wanna become a permanent citizen of another country just wanna work there.

Most countries are going to require that you obtain their own version of A & P certificats if you are going to work for a company that is based in said country. But if you are asking that hey l want to work for someone like Northwest Airlines or Erickson Air Crane and yet be stations somewhere else than in the US chances are that you should be able to get a work permit but that will only let you work on the aircraft your company owns and only for a limited amount of time.

Most foreign countries do not recognize the FAA A&P license. They have their own governing body which oversees the licensing of mechanics. (Mechanics in Europe are referred to as engineers.) JAA lincesing is type specific.
Your best bet is to work as a flight mechanic for a cargo hauler, Gemini, Atlas or Polar Air Cargo. From there, other contacts can be made. Let me know if you find anything interesting!

My fellow friendly traveling mechanic.

If you work as an A&P on ''N'' registered aircraft there will be no need to attain some others country A&P equivalent. Try the big US airlines, then big maintenance facilities abroad whom might work US planes.

Cheers

James, since you gave me ten points the last time try checking the websites of Atlas Air & Polar Air, cause these aircrafts are being serviced (A & B, C&D) checks in parts of Europe sometimes Ireland but mostly Brussels. l will try to ask my fellow workers in Dubai at Atlas for the agency which handles this and recruits FAA A&P to handle this checks.
Meanwhile after this l will email you some of my resources while l am on medical leave (recuperating) l think is the word.
