l know you have to be 16 to solo but l was wondering is there anything l can do now to help me stay on the path to become a pilot and also l got accepted into obap delta is ace camp so thats one thing and l just wanna know what l can do now to get on track to becoming a pilot thanx in advance

There is a written u have to take so if u want 2 start learning stuff like that. l would not take the written yet because u would be wasting ur money, because it is only good for 2 years. Also even though u can solo at 16 u can not get ur license until the age of 17.

You can start logging hours at 14, so u could always go to ur local airport & talk to an instructor. They will be able to give u the best advice. You could definitely start ur lessons now & get a lot of expirience before u turn 17. However, that could prove to be very expensive. There really is not much u have to do to get on track. Getting a good job depends a lot on going to a good college, like anything else. So do good in school & talk to the instructors at ur local airport.

l am also 14 l started flight school it the best, try flight school and see if your flight school has a vacation program, if they do,do it,and you should study some aviation and ask your flight instructor for advice on your student pilots license and PPL.

The main thing u need to give ur attention to right now is just doing a good job of the tasks that r on ur plate today. You will be old enough to consider the technical details of ur training & career development sooner than u think.

Right now, concentrate on being a person of good character & achievement. Stay out of trouble: no drugs, no alcohol, no trouble with the law like stealing or assault. A reputation as a person of good character & social skills will work in ur favor.

Take the courses u want to take, & talk it over with ur school guidance counselor & ur family. Make sure u do well in mathematics & sciences, & also spend some time on civics & government, & also on geography. A professional pilot has to have a really good understanding of law & regulations, & has to know where things r around the planet.

At the same time, do well in some physical pursuit. You can not be a couch potato. Do okay in Phys Ed, & find a personal sport that will help u develop strength & coordination. This is important.

Also, read everything u can get ur hands on about airplanes & aviation. The more detailed knowledge u have, the easier it will be for u to learn the things u need to know to pass ur aviation tests when the time comes. Spend time in the library & read all the books & magazines about aviation & related subjects.

If u want to go by way of the military (and that is the most certain way of getting into the flight deck of an airliner), see ur Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps recruiter. You can go to see them any time, even at age 14. Your recruiter will advise u what college to go to & what to major in to maximize ur chances of getting into military flight training.

When u r about 17, find the nearest flight school & go talk to the instructors. Sign up for an introductory flight, & see what it feels like to fly a real airplane. Do it that way, & avoid computerized flight simulators like FSX. The simulators will teach u bad habits & give u a mistaken impression of what it is like to fly a real airplane. Get some experience in the real thing before u mess with simulators. This is important.

Get ur private pilot certificate as soon as u can. It will get u a head start on whatever additional training u need, either civilian or military.
