RAF pilot goes to war, its more exciting, faster and you need to be in better physical and psychological shape,
you have the extra retirement money after you serve your term etc.
commercial is a little boring, you get to go to more places, slightly more responsibility or at least you feel like you have more responsibility, your body does not need to be in perfect shape
you get standard retirement funds just like in any other line of work.
