Can l be colour blind & still fly?
You can fly to a PPL level license with colour blindness.
Australia was also the first country to allow u to be colour blind & still get a Commercial Licence - so there r now career options for colour blind pilots. Keep in mind that this will probably be an obstacle to employment with the major airlines, however there r many other career opportunities.
Each case is different, so this is one condition that requires the advice of an aviation medicine expert.

20/20 Vision is NOT required for comercial pilots.
Yes u can wear glasses & still fly as long as u wear ur glasses while u r flying. In fact some of our instructors wear glasses.
The main requirement with eyesight is that ur vision can be corrected to near normal vision.

Yes -- but only during the day. Color resolution is required for night flying. (US rules.)

Nobody got it right again. Sure u can if u can obtain a certificate of demonstrated ability. At least in the US. Not sure about the UK but u could ask. The feds here will take u to an airport & have the tower flash their light gun at you. If u can identify the colors, u will be issued even a first class medical certificate with no restrictions. Many fail the color test & still get their ticket this way.

One caution. Do not ever, l mean never, take u get here very seriously. Even from me. I've seen many like these here that if u took them seriously, u might miss a great opportunities. Some to other questions could even get u killed. Fun stuff playing around here. But learn to do ur own research when making big decisions.

FAR 67.103c, 203c, 303c.
(c) Ability to perceive those colors necessary for the safe performance of airman duties.

The above is for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd class medicals. In the US to fly into a controlled airport, u must be able to distinguish aviation red, green & white for communication with the tower if the radio is out of service.
If u r color blind to those colors u must demonstrate that u can differentiate which color is flashing. If u know that red appears to u as brown u can tell if a red light is on. Same with green. To just about every rule there is an exception. All u have to do is demonstrate.
