Join the air force, you do not have to pay for your training, or look up flight schools in your area.

First of all, do research of the airports in ur vicinity. Either go on the internet & find out the training schools or go to the airport & talk to people in the school. Ask for a ''discovery flight''. It will usually cost around $50 if not under that. Talk to an instructor & ask them what to expect, what is needed, etc. That is probably the first ''big'' step.

l have mentored many people & the ones that have ''true'' passion for flying/aviation do not drop out at the first obstacle that comes their way. l had many obstacles when l trained (new flight instructor, finances, weather, aircraft, scheduling problems, finances.etc.). l kept going & l am glad l did.

Key - u have to be committed. u will put lots of time, effort & not to mention expenses in ur training. It will be rewarding once u get ur license in hand & u will look back saying, '' l accomplished'' something that not too many people have done.

Good luck.

Visit local airports Meet with some flight instructors. Get the medical examination. Get the training. Pass the written examinations and practical test. When you reach legal age you are then certified as a private pilot.
