Why do you people always think you can get PROFESSIONAL LICENSES for CHEAP or FREE? and. you WANT IT WITH NO WORK ON YOUR PART.

To get a AIRLINE PILOT'S LICENSE. it takes a LOT OF HARD WORK. about $50,000 and 3 to 5 YEARS of your time. You can NOT work as an airline pilot with just a private license.

pay no attention to the previous answerer, he is just having a bad day. If you knew, you would not be asking, right?

you can not carry passengers ''for hire without the proper licensing, followed by many, many hours of cockpit time. You can fly your friends around anytime you want.

Pay no attention to ANY of the other .

With the Private Airman Certificate, u can carry passengers up to the capacity of the largest airplane u r rated to fly. You cannot be paid for piloting services with the Private Certificate.

Again, it is a felony crime at the federal level for a private pilot to ask for payment or to be paid for piloting services. Got that? You have to have a Commercial Airman Certificate & the appropriate ratings to be paid for flying.

It depends on ur definition of ''cheap.'' The Private Airman Certificate will now cost u $8,000 to $10,000 US dollars, & the Commercial Certificate will cost as much as $50,000 US.

For much more information, try an internet search on ''aviation career.''

this is for private or commercial times the prices by 1.5

small schools r 5000 to 6000 dollars which is the cheapest

medium school r 8000 to 9000 dollars

large schools r 10000 to 12000 dollar maybe even higher

i prefer a small school because it cheap & the instructors focus only on u & the rent of the plane is cheaper & the instructors r cheaper

the best thing about them is the pay as u go so it could take 3 weeks of 3 years

ye private pilots can carry passengers

In the United States, a private pilot license allows u to carry passengers for free, such as friends or relatives. You cannot be paid to fly passengers with just a private pilot license, & the FAA has a very broad definition of flying for hire that it will not hesitate to enforce.

Becoming an airline pilot requires the highest certification of all, an Airline Transport Pilot certification, & obtaining this is very roughly equivalent to becoming a lawyer, in terms of time & cost. So if u would not be willing to expend the effort required to become a lawyer, there is no point in trying to become an airline pilot. In addition, as a pilot u will have to work for less money, longer, than a beginning lawyer would.

Finally, getting a really good paying job as the captain of a large airliner for a top airline is much harder than simply becoming a commercial pilot (which is already hard enough). Many r called, few r chosen. For every airline captain who has worked his way to the top of the heap, there r hundreds of commercial pilots who work in much less pleasant jobs making barely enough to buy groceries.

Overall, unless u love flying, do not become a pilot. It is not worth the time & effort from a money standpoint—there r easier ways to make money, if that is all u want to do. Most pilots become pilots because they love to fly, which is a great reason for being a pilot, but if you're not in love with flying, do not bother. And remember that ur career can end at any time if u fail ur regular medical exam.

You can make a thousand times more money with a hundred times fewer qualifications by, say, trading stocks … or at least u could until a few weeks ago!

You may carry a few passengers as long as u r not getting paid for it, in which case a commercial license would be required. To fly a plane with two or more engines, u MUST have a multi-engine rating. To fly commercially, u would need commercial license, multi-engine rating & instrument rating as bare minimum. In addition, u would need several thousand hours just to reach the bare minimums for a commercial license. In addition, u would have to meet the specific airline is requirements to undergo training. Once u get in the program, most of ur training will be done on the appropriate simulator for the aircraft u r interested in flying.

On a private license, u can carry as many passengers as the largest aircraft that u r endorsed on is able (on weight & weight distribution). What u cannot do is charge money. You can take passengers on a cost sharing basis, but not for profit.
Here in Australia (and l am sure it is common practice throughout the world), with a private license u can fly Company people around in a Company plane for which u r endorsed, provided u do not work for the Company primarily as a pilot!
Beyond that, u need at least a CPL license for fare- paying passenger transportation, & an ATPL for airline flying.
Sure, a private license is cheap. You will then need to spend heaps more to advance. Unless u can get an airline cadetship!
Or join the airforce. Maybe in time u will be both highly skilled & able to leave & get a job in an airline. But an airforce will demand ur services for a considerable time, u know!
