Which aircraft manufacturer has more breakthrough technologies/firsts? what is your personal opinion on both aircraft manufacturers?

Good lord.a 46 page diatribe could come out of this one. Really, it all comes down to personal preference. If u cut ur teeth on Boeings (either flying them or as a mechanic), u probably will enjoy their engineering plans & ideas. If u understand the way Airbus did things, it may seem foreign that Boeing could POSSIBLY do it another way. Personally, l am a Boeing fan because it is a 100% American company & succeeding on its own, not as a conglomerate of forty countries' taxpayers like Airbus is. Plus, their record speaks for itself: The 747 defined the jumbojet sector thirty years ago (silly A380.); the 737 has like 7,000 jets in operation or something--a record among any jet, any maker; & particularly now, they're pushing ahead with the 787, which has extremely extensive composite fabrication in its fuselage--a first in the business. l have to give the A380 credit for being so damned GIANT (those engines r unbelievable), but past that, l am a Boeing fan. And if you're a pilot, it all depends whether or not u want to have an actual yoke between ur legs, or if u can deal with flying the plane by a joystick. l am a mechanic as well as a pilot, & a joystick just feels too video-gamey to me. Just my opinion, though. Good luck with the rest of ur !

Airbus has more breakthrough technologies and firsts … which is why l prefer Boeing.

In the world of aviation, pioneers usually end up dead.

both companies produce excellent aircraft, so it would come down to personal preference. if l were building an airline, l would go for boeing aircraft, unless airbus gave me a much better deal on new aircraft. l am however biased towards boeing aircraft.

Airbus - Airbus starts trends, does not follow them. They did go out a limb with the 747 but in the modern arena they r just redefining there aircraft. A380 - whether u like it or not, is an amazing A/C, it is the most fuel efficient civil aviation aircraft. l have flown on the 777, 747, A330 & A380 & can tell u that the A380 is 10 times better than the 747 - it is much quieter, spacious, smarter designed. The A330 is also better than the 777 - ditto A380 vs B747.
l think the saying 'If it is Boeing, Im not going' comes to mind a lot. Both areexceptionall companies, & l would argue - how is being partly owned by 40 odd companies is a bad thing. Boeing is owned by 50 states & they r larger in area (total) then the European countries

While l am OK to fly in them, l find that Airbus planes are not assembles as well. Specially sloppy welding. l have seen some truly awful spot welding in engine nacelles.

Boeing aircraft seem to be built witj more attention to detail.

boeing 1st in composite commercial jet and jumbo
airbus big fat 380 and first wide body twin 300 more 1st

boeing is better as its jets are more beautiful than airbus
