Unique question! l really like the SR-X Aurora because nobody know for certain if it really exists, & l like mysterious subjects like that. It was supposedly the replacement for the SR-71 Blackbird but the use of advanced spy satellites basically made high speed spy aircraft obsolete.

If the Aurora does/did exist, it is predicted to have a top speed of Mach 5 to Mach 6 (based on sky quakes heard over Los Angeles). Here is a picture of what experts think it looks like:

My favorite would have to be the first aircraft l got my hands on to fly, a Noorduyn Norseman on floats. There is nothing else in the world that sounds like a Norseman firing up.
l also have a soft spot for the Beechcraft Bonanza, the first land aircraft l learned to fly in.

My favorite aircraft is the one that l got my wings flying - the Northrop T-38 Talon. Fully aerobatic, supersonic, capable of reaching altitudes in excess of 50,000 ft. Flew very smoothly and predictably in formation, with about 3 - 5 foot wing tip separation. Not forgiving, but fast. Could pull 6 G in the pattern and drop the speed brakes, then the gear and the flaps and land it on a dime. Formation flying around southern thunderheads was unforgettable.

but my all time favorite airplane would have to be, at this time
the P51 mustang. it had the range, firepower, & maneuverability to take on just about any thing the axis powers could throw at it, & it generally came out on top. it was the plane that when herman goering looked up in the sky & saw allied fighters over berlin, he said the war is lost.
