Many people seem to be scared about flying, is it the fact you feel you are going to crash/fall out of the sky. Have you had a bad experience, what was it?

l think most people r generally scared of flying because they have no control of the plane whatsoever. When something goes wrong with the plane, passengers can not fix the error. You have basically placed ur life in someone else is hands.

Also, though statistically speaking, flying is often the safest way to travel but is also the most tragic when an accident occurs. In a car accident, generally ur chances r living r greater than in an airplane, because in an airplane, if the plane is going down, rarely will u survive.

That l get the window seat b/c the flight attendant will bump you with the drink tray if you are in the aisles. Also if l am close to the front of the plane, because waiting for everyone ot grab their bag sucks. Oh, and making sure l put my arm on the armrest first.

Flying is ok, its the crashing bit l am not on for.

l hate flying, but not because l am scared of crashing, l am just freakishly claustrophobic, and hate the thought of not being able to get off. :s

l am most concerned about the condition of the pilots and aircraft, since these are the major potential causes of accidents. l am also concerned about the weather, if it is severe.

l fly to Mexico a couple times a year and hate it. It freaks me out every timee we hit air pockets and the plane drops. l do not like takeoffs or landings either. In general l guess l should probably be driving but it takes too long.

Well, when a plane l was flying in took off, the overhead compartments started shaking like mad, like they were almost separate from the plane. That scared me a bit but it turns out they're supposed to do that. :-P

flying is great, l believe its the initial fear of flying that scares people.

its just like when u do something for the first time like ride a bike or jump from a high ledge into a pool. The first time u r scared then u settle down & become more comfortable with it.

when l first started my pilot training l was scared of the height. l also used to be scared to look in the opposite direction of the turn. l think this was because of the sensation of falling.

some people r also a bit claustrophobic, l havent got any experience with this so yeh l dont know how to deal with this.

Getting paid

l get scared about the thought that the engines will fail upon take-off. That is my biggest fear. Second is the wings/tail will come off. Besides l know planes do not just fall out of the sky. Sometimes l think of an explosion but then l will be dead before l realise so l do not think about it often.
